Congrats!

This makes me want to try even harder. Did you drink all your water all the time? This is the hardest thing for me.

I am proud of you!

LaurieLamb--Cute name.
Yes, I drank all my water. I hate it, too. But a good motivator for me is that if I don't, I'll see a 2 pound gain on the scale.

Paleoanth--Yeah, I guess I'm little. But I'm also small framed, and those last 6 pounds are all that's coming off.
I won't lose anymore. Don't want to be too thin.

Problem is, I still see myself as a size 12, much bigger than I am. Anybody else have that same ocular or mental dysfunction?

speedysswa--Thank you.

angelswed--It took me....8 1/2 months altogether, I believe. It took me 3 1/2 months to go from 183 to 140. Gained back 5 pounds b/c I went off for 9 months. Took 5 months to lose 25. I went on two stalls: One for 10 weeks and one for 3.

Spongebutt, I too see myself as the size I used to weigh. Everyone tells me how thin I look and that I shouldn't lose anymore, but I see myself as a real heffer. I don't think we will ever see ourselves as small because of where we were before. I tell my dh to point out someone who is the same size as me so I can see actually what I look like. It's funny how off I am.

I'm trying to get my DH to do that. Since we both work we're usually not at the mall or anywhere were people populate innumerously.

I went to Abercrombie&Fitch yesterday, and the woman who was helping me said "You're what? A size small? Extra small?"
So that should clue me in right there. But it doesn't. I still see myself as an elephant.

I was a 12 for most of my life and at my biggest I was a 16.
But because I was a 12 for so long (8 years, at least) that's how I see myself.

My sis-in-law says I'm really little, and I told her I would have to see a picture of me before I believed it.

Dear Former-Spongebutt: Way to go. You are a mere shadow of your former self. Can't imagine you needing to go any lower. I bet you look terrific in your new tiny clothes.

Whenever I was thin, I never saw myself as thin. I always see myself as FAT. When I am fat,I always think I am thinner than I am and only when I see a picture of myself do I realize how FAT I am.

I am more critical of myself when I am thin than when I am fat. Go figure the human mind.

I can't see the difference in myself at all. No one else has noticed it either, come to think of it. I've gone down 2 clothes sizes, but when I look in the mirror I see the same old huge person staring back at me. I don't think this is uncommon.

Good that it's common, sad that it happens.

I'm glad I'm not the only one b/c my DH thinks I'm nuts. He can't believe that I honestly can not see how 'small' I am. To me, I'm still a hippo.

Man, I wish this was the Renaissance. That way I could either be thin b/c of being poor, or being fat would be acceptable.
