Default Scale Is Mooooooving!!

[Hi Everyone!

Just wanted to stop in with a little post and to let you all know what seems to be working better for me of late. I am on the Atkins plan and started out great in my first 10 days or so and lost about 5 lbs-then stalled out for 4 weeks! So decided to decrease my daily calories ( I know what is said about keeping calories up to 10-12% of body weight) but it wasn't working for me! So i am keeping my calories around 1200 now , for less then a week and have dropped another 5 lbs! I also added-not eating ANYTHING after my dinner at 6... Soooooo? it just may have been time for a Whoooosh! for me????? or the lower calories are helping! I guess we are all different! what works for one doesn't the other, etc. Just my 2 cents worth on what is working for me now. More time will tell!!

Good Luck All on your LC Journey!

Jude

That's just GREAT, Judy!! I'm sorry you have to keep your calories so low, but for some people that just seems to be necessary. It's one of the flaws of Atkins I think, that he doesn't address this issue very well. The delicate balance comes if/when the next time you stall....will it be necessary to drop calories again? There's the rub.

Well, no need to worry abou that now.... it's time to bring on the cheerleaders!!!

Thanks for the Congrats & Cheers ((Spongebutt -TeriDoodle))

~~~ And Yes Teri, I thought of that awful possibility and happening too, with the decreased calories, it might only proove to be a temporary fix, but hopefully if that's the case I'll discover through trial and error something else that works and keeps me on the LC plan. Giving it my all! because it's a great WOL for me , there is little hunger or cravings for me, even with the decreased calories. That means MUCHO!!!!
Wonderful Day To All !
I have used reduced calories but not constantly. I use caloric staggering theory that says you should vary your calories (and carbs) through the week. Keeping your calories at a constant low level will likely result in a major stall and more muscle loss. Lowered calories works best right after higher calories. Being in starvation mode too much will not help in the long run.
George~
I checked out your provided link on the calorie staggering and YES! I do believe in the calorie staggering theory as I have had luck with it in the past with other dieting. Thanks for the pushed reminder! and thanks for your post! It was very helpful!
