Exclamation This Made Me Feel SOOOO Guilty

DH wanted me to grind him some nuts today.
In the freezer I found a small package of Macadamias and ground some up for him.

I'm standing at counter looking at them (my all time favorite nuts).
I have been losing so slowly, I have not had nuts yet.

Long story short, I roasted a couple of Tbsps of them (chopped, not ground) in skillet.
Melted a Tbsp butter, added some cocoa, one package splenda,
and a Tbsp heavy whipping cream. Added the nuts and put it in the freezer for a while.

Chocolate and Macadamias

So why do I feel so guilty? Because it was so doggone good, it has to be BAD

Sounds like it was all legal food, but I know what you mean. Sunday i had one of those carbo-lite chocolate bars and 5 sliced strawberries, first time I've had fruit since beginning Atkins. I feel that I'm losing slowly also so have pretty much stayed on induction foods. I felt guilty (and Hungry) for the rest of the day, but didn't gain weight so it must have been ok.

I, too, was losing slowly...like a lb every couple od weeks. Then I started adding berries and nuts, and am losing at least a lb or 2 each week. Go figure!

Introducing nuts, berries, seeds and plain yogurt do not seem to have had any ill effects on me either. And they sure have added to my enjoyment. Not to mention the yogurt giving me an alternative to eggs!

Default What does the phrase serves 4 mean

At least you guys are measuring out good portions. I finished off the last of my strawberries-making 3 trips -the last one with whipped cream poured on. Still that is less then 8 ec
so no problem. Then I went through 6 servings of almonds in two days and still had room for snacks of pumpkin seed. ARRGH.

Its time for me to focus on quantity not quality.

Default roasted nuts

How did you roast those nuts in a skillet and how much cocoa did you use? I would love to try it with pecans!

Thanks

Default Hi Goergie

I sprayed a little olive oil in a small iron skillet and stirred them over medium heat until they were lightly browned.

Then I removed them from the pan and put in a Tbsp of butter. When it melted, I took a tsp of cocoa and sprinkled it over the butter, mixing it well. Then added a packet of splenda. Stirred it in until it was all smooth. Added the cream and stirred again.
That was it.

I think it would be good with any type of nuts.
Honestly, it tasted so good I felt like I was cheating

Thanks..I made some tonight but haven't tried them yet. I'm waiting for tomorrow when I get a chocolate craving. Drove 14 miles round trip to get the cream because I had been thinking about them all day. I licked the spoon though and it tasted like chocolate ice cream!!!

No. I didn't run it through Fitday, I was too afraid of the results

I haven't had it again, but I know I will soon.
Glad you liked it.
