Question Sugar free, full fat ice cream?

I'm doing so well on this WOE but one thing I miss is ice cream! All the sugar free ice creams I've found are also fat free (so of course I don't buy them. Has anyone found a sugarfree premium ice cream? I'm really not into making the Atkins recipe. I just want to be able to buy some occasionally.
Thanks!

Default I love ice cream

I found a low carb ice cream called Le Carb frozen dessert...I found it very yummy...my only problem was trying not to eat it all at one sitting....

It is sweetened with splenda and has 5-6 carbs a serving of which 3 I believe is glycerine and some varietys have 1 gram fiber

They had chocolate, choc almond, strawberry, vanilla, homemade vanilla, cinnamon, lemon

I have tried choc, strawberry and lemon all very yummy

I found this at the Walmart superstore---the kind that sells groceries and I live in a smaller town so surely someone around you should have it or be able to order it in for you

It came in a pint size container---like ben and jerry's and was like 2.70 or so...a bargian for and ice cream lover

Good Luck!!!!

When it comes to treats like ice cream, I look at the carb content and not necessarily at the fat content. I've been using Edys sugar-free when we want a treat like that, but at an average of 10 grams effective carb per 1/2 cup, we don't do it often.
Another option would be to make your own. Recently, one of my daughters had strep throat so rather than let her chow down on regular ice cream, I took frozen strawberries and put them in the the food processer, added 1/4 cup of Splenda, poured heavy cream over it and processed until smooth...just like soft serve ice cream but with a lot less carbs. You could do the same thing with frozen raspberries or blueberries.
I've also recently discovered Atkins Endulge ice cream at my local health food store. It's pricey at $5.00 American for 4 little cups (1/2 cup each), but it's quite tasty and has a low effective carb count as well.

Talking Thanks!

Thanks Rebecca - I'll have to take a trip over to Walmart and check out the Le Carb.
And Lisa, I'm going to try the berry ice cream idea too - that sounds pretty easy!
I did write a note on the Ben and Jerry's website suggesting that they put out a sugar free premium ice cream (not low fat) and that I think it could sell big with all of us lo-carbers! Anyone else interested in urging them to try putting out a product like that, go to www.benandjerrys.com and use their suggestion box. Maybe if they hear from a number of us, they'll put out a lo-carb cherry garcia (my favorite flavor!). Even a good Ben & Jerry's vanilla would be great!
Thanks!

Default We make our own

We make our own with whipping cream, eggs and strawberries in the ice cream maker. OMG!! Sooooo good! We are going to experiment with lo-carb chocolate (De-Lite makes a dark chocolate that tastes and melts just like hersheys dark!!)

Default Homemade Ice cream

a tablespoon of Frys cocoa (unsweetened.) to the recipe and it is delicious...I also use Splenda as the sweetener in my little machine.

When i was trying to figure out how to take Psyllium, with out having to drink it in water YUK. I put 3 or 4 frozen berries into a blender with some cream and Psyllium and whizzed them up, it was pretty good. A lot better than psyllium and water, and nearly as good as ice cream.
If you have a sweet tooth throw in some splenda. It takes about 30 seconds to make so you can have it when the serious munchies strike.

Talking Atkins ice cream

Hey, today I found Atkins lo carb ice cream in the grocery store. The only flavor they had was vanilla but it's pretty darn good - especially with sliced strawberries!
I hope people will still keep requesting lo carb ice cream from B & J's tho - they would definitely make a good product!
Thanks everyone!
