Question cholesteral and induction

I have been low carbing now for the second time for about 7 weeks (lost 9 lbs) ,and doing well. however this question is for my husband(47) who the dr. just told he should try the atkins diet.he is not over weight tho.it is his cholesteral.he was on lipitor for a short time , but i was uncomfortable with that , so he has been taking flax oil, fish oil, and his regular daily vitamins.my question is: because he doesn't need to lose any weight(lucky him), do i need to still start him on the induction, or just cut the carbs? he is very active , and healthy other than the cholesteral.he is addicted to breakfast cereal! which i already took away from him, trying to help him make better choices. i think he needs some carbs , i mean let's face it some people can eat them more than others.i just want him to cut them , mostly the sugar! thanks for any help you can give . hartsdlite
