Hi!
I'm Karen from Mountain Home, Arkansas. Mountain Home is small resort town located in north central AR about 15 miles south of the Missouri line. Close by are two beautiful lakes and the White River with great bass and trout fishing.

I tried the Adkins plan many years ago but stopped due to all the scary press. Over the years my weight has climbed to as high as 222 lbs. I am now around 195 and am using the Protein Power Plan. I slowly began tapering off my carbs about 2 weeks ago as I am 56 and have health problems. Unfortunately, I am the "poster girl" for Syndrome X. Wish I had stayed with the Adkins Plan as I would not have all the health problems I have now.

I worked in information systems (computers) for 34 years. I taught at a university in California before retiring early due to health reasons in 1998 and moving to Arkansas in 2000. I am married and my husband and I have 7 grown children and 11 grandchildren. We are active volunteers in the community.

I am excited about the LC WOE and MUST stick to it! I am going to post a question in Newbie's questions about medications. Hope someone can answer it.

Glad to be a part of this discussion board.
Karen
