Thumbs down Been on Holiday, am so disappointed..

I have just come back off a late deal holiday to tenerife and all the break was fantastic (my boyfriend proposed, yeeah!), I have to say i was very disappointed with the food there.

I know we all go on holiday for different reasons, but for me it is the great food (i am sure mose of you foodaholics are the same). I have been to Greece many times and was expecting that Tenerife, although Spanish, would be the same. wow was I wrong. I was expecting lovely cheap seafood, local delicasies, great salads.

The seafood available was ultra expensive, sometimes more that eating in the UK. I can only assume that they have over fished the area and have to get it imported. Everywhere was pasta or pizza, full english breakfasts and tonnes of chips. On my first day i asked for a plain omlette and it came out full of potato. i went into the supermarkets and it seems that they do not have to put labelling on their products in Spain.

I had a great break, but if you are serious about trying to maintain your diet while abroad, concider how 'english' they are. They obvoiusly think that everyone wants to eat a plate of chips
