Reading Lables???

I've been reading lables for some time... however, I get confused at the term I'm hearing ...ECC Carbs...

Can anyone explain what the difference between CARBS and ECC Carbs are...

I've figured out that the number comes from The number of carbs less the number representing dietary fiber? but have no idea as to the significance this number represents...
