Default Disappointing restaurant dinner

To explain-we were given a gift cert to a local restaurant and had been holding on to it until we really wanted to go out. This was somewhere we had never been before and were excited to try it out.
To say we were disappointed would be putting it mildly.
First, appetizer bar-celery and carrot sticks, pasta salads (3), crackers, etc.
So, ate a couple of celery sticks.
Coffee-something wrong, tasted burned or old???? Tried new cup, no improvement.
Salad-Got a small saucer full of cut up iceberg lettuce. Wow, I have a salad at home in the fridge with all kinds of mixed lettuces, spinach, cabbage, etc.
Dinner-ordered vegs in place of potato-got a small bowl of peas-we could tell were from frozen bag and boiled too long. I didnt eat-DH did.
Prime rib-when you have to saw at it with a steak knife-you know there is a problem. Taste-very bland.
No more coffee-no dessert.
With tip, this cost us our $40 cert and $3 cash.
DH came home with upset stomach and went to bed early. I have major heartburn which I havent had in quite a while. I think it will be a long time before we go out just for dinner again. Would rather spend $$$ somewhere else.
ANyone else find that they would rather just eat at home???
