Default How long?

Hi

I have a rather long winded explanation to get to a question--so I'll ask first and explain after. How long does it normally take after cutting the foods DANDR suggests to cut out in order to control Candida?

I started on Atkins last May, and lost very quickly at first. Then I discovered Russell Stovers SF chocolates, and seemed to stall. I also noticed I developed a yeast infection (formerly very common for me--but had not had one since starting Atkins). I'm thinking now that the sugar alcohols contributed. I cut off the SF candy just thinking the sugar alcohols had stalled me--and did lose about 10 additional lbs. Then I developed a staff infection and had to take antibiotics. Since then I haven't lost another lb (except the water weight I gained while cheating at Thanksgiving). No gaining either--and I'm following the program to the letter and drinking plenty of water.

Anyway, I reread the Candida chapter in DANDR--and have enough symptoms that I'm pretty sure this is my problem. SO, (sigh), I've made a committment to cut all cheese except mozarella and cream cheese and to cut mushrooms and sour cream as well for the next month. I know DANDR says allow 4 to 6 weeks, and then reintroduce slowly--but surely it doesn't take that long for the yeast symptoms to decrease and weight loss to resume.

Any experience or advice to share will be appreciated.
