virgin coconut oil vs organic refined coconut oil

Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone else has tried coconut oil. I have read that it aids in weight loss and is an instant energy boost but is there a huge difference between virgin oil and the organic refined oil. i notice a huge price difference, but I am not able to find any literature out there that compares the two. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
