L-caratine question

Hello Everyone...I have a quick question. I am on Atkins and I take daily supplements. I take a very very good multi-vitamin, Omega Oils, extra Chromium. It was recommended that I take L-caratine but Im not sure exactlly what dose I should take. Someone borrowed my Atkins book

and they havent returned it so i cant look it up. I seem to remember that Dr. Atkins recommended 1000 mgs /day. Can anyone help?
