Default Cheese

Just wondering if Nacho cheese is allowed during induction or at all? I love nacho cheese!! My son ripped the label off of the can so I have no clue what the label says! All I can remember is that I have a HUGE gallon of nacho cheese by Ortega from costco. Oh also is enchilada sauce allowed? I have concoctions in my head!

Exclamation Processed cheese has alot more carbs

I would stay away from processed cheese. Actually even regular cheese can be stalling and can contribute to constipation. FOr the frist two weeks of induction I relly would allow your body to totally detox from all processed stuff. You might fidn you'll lose more and things will run smoothly

Talking Enchilada Sauce

I can answer the enchilada sauce question! It come out to 3 grams per 1/4cup serving! You may want to switch to cheddar over the nacho cheese.

I agree in theory but did have some processed cheese during induction myself.

I think as long as you stay within the 3-4 oz daily maximum and make sure the cheeses you choose are 0-1 carb an oz serving it shouldn't effect your weightloss.

Thumbs down

A lot of those "cheeses" are processed and some have starch for thickness so read the ingredients. You could make your own with cheddar, cream, salsa.... I am sure there must be a recipe somewhere.

That makes sense. Thanks for the input. I am a nacho cheese junkie but I can live without it. Thanks for the info on the enchilada sauce! I weighed myself today and I have lost 4.5 pounds since Monday! YAY! At first I was beginning to think I was not going to lose anything but it crept up on me! I feel sooooo good and happy! I love this diet!!!

Most of those, "things" have tons of crap in them, and real cheese is the least of the ingredients, so don't be fooled.

Default American Cheese

Is American cheese considered processed cheese? Logically I know it is because it's not "real" cheese. Right? Wrong? Help!

If it that pre-packed; plastic wrapped stuff - yes.

Some Deli-counter brands (sliced by deli-man) are OK - - you should ask to see the ingredients - I do.
