Smile called the doctor...

yesterday to request a copy of my bloodwork from December . He of course was 'out' (it was Wednesday - but too snowy for golf...) but I told the nurse that I was doing LC - but felt I should be loosing more than the 10# in 2 months, and would like to request that he run another thyroid test. (I do have nodules) - stopped by and picked up the paperwork and then went directly for the ordered TSH. But at least now I will be able to add my stats.
My Lipid panel with LDL/HDL was total cholesterol - 196, Triglycerides 215, HDL - 46, VLDL Chol - 43, LDL Cholesterol Cal 107. with my LDL/HDL ratio at 2.3.

I can't really understand the numbers myself...but I think it's a great idea that you got a baseline in the beginning of your LC.

If anyone is just starting - or still going, too - that is a really good idea. It lets you know just how much healthier you're really getting! And you can really shut up the skeptics that way...

Your triglicerides were a little high, but everything else looks good from wha I can see.

I will be interested to see what your thyroid and new cholesterol tests look like.

I think that it is necessary to test also for T3 & T4 and maybe Free T3 & Free T4 as well to get an accurate picture of how a thyroid is functioning. The TSH may look to be in "normal range" and may not show as much as those other tests. Have a look in the thyroid forum here for more information.

Of course if your TSH shows low, then the Dr. will know that something needs to be done.
