Question Stillman and Framer/Cottage Cheese

Hello

I've been on a low carb diet since August 2002.
Recently, I've been cheating like mad, so I decided to do Stillman to get the weight I gained off.

I read the book "The Doc Quick Weight Loss Diet" , but I have a question that I couldn't find answers to.

One of the guidelines says that one can consume Framer/Cottage and Pot cheese. But, when I look at the carb content of Cottage cheeses, especially the low/non fat ones, it's very high.

For example, 2% fat cottage cheese has 4g Carb and 4g Sugar.
Pot cheese has more or less the same...

The only cheese that I found that contains no sugars and no carbs in Farmer cheese...

Could anyone please explain how one can eat cottage cheese without ruining the diet?

Thank you so much for your help

You have probably noticed that there are no vegetables and fat allowed on Stillman and that the diet works out to about 800 calories or less a day. The focus of Stillman is lean protein and dry curd cottage cheese falls into that category.

I wouldn't say that Stillman is technically a low-carb diet. It's a lean protein only diet that has what few carbs there are coming from dairy products, minimal condiments and eggs.

Unhappy The 800 calories

Oh... I think you just solved a big mystery.

I'm one of those people who can live on cheese and I've been eating cottage cheese (non fat/ 1%) and Farmer cheese like crazy.

I consume far more than 800 calories (Far far more...)
So maybe that's why I haven't been losing anything..

Better count my calories.

Thanks

With Stillman, you don't count calories so it's probably a non issue. I should have been more clear about the 800 calories. It usually ends up that way because Stillman is a heavy appetite suppressant and there is very little fat eaten.

BTW, here's the nutrition count on dry curd cheese per cup.

Total Calories 122.66
Total Carbohydrates 2.68 g
Dietary Fiber 0.00 g
Total Protein 25.04 g
Total Fat 0.61 g
