Default Do You PMS??

I have PCOS and rarely have a period. However, since losing 35 lbs on low carb, I managed a period a few months ago. But then this past month I had major PMS.....backache, tender breasts, irritability, sensitivity in my lower abdomen, mood swings....the works! I was actually excited because I thought I am getting another period!!!!

But then nothing.......after a week, PMS gone......no period though.

Does anyone else out there experience PMS but no actual period?

Thanks in advance!

I am taking herbs now so don't experience that as much since I do get periods now. However, I still sometimes PMS and then get no period. A lot of cysters go through this. It is yet another annoying aspect of PCOS.

Hi Tams!

I started bleeding heavily (sorry!) when I started the low-carb diet and went to see my OBGYN. He told me that when you lose weight the estrogen that's in your fat cells is released into your bloodstream, causing your hormones to go out of control (more so than what they already are).

So, you may have an increased amount of estrogen in your body which may be causing the additional PMS symptoms.

Hope that helps!

Angry PMS

Hi Tams,

Believe it or not, even after a partial hysterectomy I get extreme PMS. I did not get this however until I had been lo carbing for 2 months. I see this as a good sign as it means my hormones are now normalising - obviously I do not get a period, but everything else.

Hang in there - all good things come to those who wait!

VErn.
