Default Christmas Dinner Plans???

Just thought I'd see what everyone is planning for Christmas dinner?

We are having fondue.....beef/chicken/shrimps/mushrooms/zucchini in peanut oil.

Sauces I make from sour cream, low carb ketchup....and low carb mango chutney sauce......and a spicy peanut sauce......and a shallot sauce (just shallots, sour cream, and low carb ketchup )......

Dessert I haven't decided yet....maybe a pumpkin custard or cheesecake.

That sounds wonderful. We have several things we are either hosting or attending.

On the morning of Christmas Eve, my dad, his fiance, my brother and his gf are coming over for brunch.

I am making:

a frittata (probably ham and gruyere)
some kind of meat (bacon, etc)
scones (which I will not eat)
berries with fresh whipped cream

Not sure yet about that evening...Christmas day, we go to my mom's for breakfast, so no problems there. Then to DH's mom's for the afternoon. Last year she did all appetizers and a giant meat/cheese platter to make sandwhiches. I just wrapped my meat and cheese in lettuce and ate it that way!

We got a fondue set for our wedding (over 2 years ago) and still havent used it!

Your menu sounds a lot like ours - we're having fondue also. My favorite dipping sauce was found at a copycat recipe site - it's a horseradish cream sauce like Lawry's The Prime Rib's. It's just whipped cream with grated horseradish and seasoned salt - everyone who's tried it, just loves it.

I'm doing appetizer-type things too. After Thanksgiving Day and all that cooking, I don't really want to repeat it so soon! (nor the clean up!)

I'm thinking little quiches, meats, cheeses, olives, etc.

We're eating at our friends' house, so clean up is mostly theirs but we're sharing the cooking duties:

Crown roast of pork with apple-sausage stuffing (I'll skip the stuffing)
Brussels sprouts with bacon and onions
Sweet and sour red cabbage made with Splenda
salt encrusted baked potatoes (I'll skip these too)
Wine (red and white)

For dessert, sugar free vanilla custard for me, Apple tarts for everyone else.

Hey...I thought I was doing good to convince everyone to go with as much low carb stuff as I did.

I'm going over my daughter's. It's her first Christmas and having me and her brother, as well as her dad and her BF's dad and brother. I'm bringing a LC cheesecake (Bawdy's....yum), but otherwise I'm at her mercy. They have a very high carb intake, and "traditionally" (which with my kids means doing something two or three times! LOL) we have italian....all kinds of pasta and breads. I've already decided I'm having whatever I want. I'm not going to pig out, and I'll stick to veggies and meat as much as possible, but I am going to eat what I want of my choices.

I'm goin to New York on holiday for Christmas with bio mum and New Years I'm going home for "Christmas" with step mum and Daddy. What the hell I am goin to do for the entire 10days - I have no idea. Even the ham my step mum is baking has a honey and brown sugar glaze on it. I really want to stay away from all the sugar and starchy veg, but I have no idea how I will cope in NY and at home. I am terrified.
I suppose it's water, water, water and lots of meat and veggies. The holiday is gonna be the killer, I don't want it to turn into an 8 day binge-fest.
I'd be interested to hear what everyone's tips are for keeping on track over this coming few weeks of food hell.

We are having shrimp cocktail, spinach dip (with cucumbers for me) filet mignon, mashed potatoes, (none for me) green beans and cream puffs (none for me) and LC macaroons (if I can find unsweetned coconut).

Right on plan!

We're having:

prime rib (yum)
twice baked potatoes (I'll skip those)
green salad (I'll have mine with walnut oil for dressing)
something horribly sugary for dessert (I'll skip)
There will also be some kind of fresh veg tray which I plan to raid many times, I'll just skip the dip because they invariably have something that's loaded with carbs for the dip.

I'll also skip the punch and just have water or herbal tea with splenda.

We'll be having pretty much the same menu as Thanksgiving, with a couple of exceptions since there will be fewer people.

Grilled Turkey
Mushroom Sausage Stuffing (Suzanne Somers) Yummy!
Roasted Brussels Sprouts and onions
garlic mashed potatoes (no thank you)
Sweet Potato souffle (my cheat dessert)
Undecided on the real dessert.

I'm very anxious about what I will do: eat carbs or stick to my diet. I don't have a strategy yet for Christmas day, but I am obsessed thinking about it. I will be a guest at a friend's house, and my friends will also try to stick fairly closely to the diet principles, but there will also be much temptation.
