Post My Introduction

My name is Wendy and I haven't yet started my low carb journey but I know that every single food item in my house right now is high carbs. :-( I am a carbohydrate addict and just thinking about all the things that I won't be able to eat scares me. My husband and I are determined to make this work for both of us. I need someone to point me in the right direction as to what books to look at so I can decide which plan I like. I also have 4 young children that I know won't eat a low carb diet so I was wondering what other people have done about that. Do you have two menus at each mealtime? Everyone I know that's been successful on a low-carb diet is older and have no children at home.
Wendy

hi wendy, welcome to this site. one thing you could do to start is look to the right of this page, you will see 'quick links', click on "which plan is right for me" this might give you some idea which plan you want to go on then you can get the appropriate book. secondly there is the LC parents support group located under 'low carb support forum groups' if you click on that and browse through the posts you may find some answers there that will be helpful to and your family

Hey Stormy,
Welcome to this site. You will find most anything you want to read about here. You are also very fortunate to be doing this WOE with your husband. Last May my husband, 2 sons and myself all started LC and we have done wonderful together. It is much easier when the whole family is determined to change, that way the "bad food" is more easily banished from the house. Good luck to you and enjoy....you will be surprised you can eat rather well with LC.
