Default Is peanut butter OK

during induction as long as you count the carbs? I am thinking I could eat the 2 T worth for 4 Carbs and that could be a snack for me. I have natural peanut butter no sugar in it. I am having some problems with snacks. I had a cheese stick this morning and this afternoon I had an Atkins granola bar. Yesterday was a cheese stick in the am and homemade coleslaw in the pm. It has to be something I can pack and brink to work. Something simple and not any kind of meat. I eat plenty of meat for my meals.

According to DANDR peanuts, like other legumes, should not be consumed during induction.

I have to admit, I do eat peanut butter during induction, but......I always fall off plan and have do redo induction, so maybe you shouldn't follow my lead! Come to think of it....maybe I should cut out my peanut butter....Hmmmmm lol

Oh Lord, peanut butter is one of my huge weaknesses. EVIL!! LOL Technically, on a clean induction, peanut butter would be a no-no. However, after that, if you are good with portion control and maybe didn't eat it every day, AND if it didn't stall your weight loss....and on and on and on..... I think it is one of those "your mileage may vary" things. It may be okay for you after induction. Good luck to you!!

I agree w/ Christal, if you can control your cravings and only eat a small amount and it doesnt stall you then go for it, however most of us can't control our cravings for peanut butter. Everything else I can, peanut butter for some reason, I go nuts (no pun intended). But if you can then enjoy. But if you want to do a clean induction then no, it's not allowed and neither are any low carb products, just natural foods.

Peanuts are actually better than peanut butter. Most peanut butter is loaded with sugar. Buy "natural" peanut butter and keep it to very small amounts.
