Default Probably has been asked but please humor me

How many calories a day on average do you all burn exercising? I am trying to shoot to stay between 200 and 300. Any input? My exercise is logged in fitday.

That's a good amount.... what type of exercise are you doing? Cardio and weight training? Just cardio? (Sorry my IT police block the stupidest sites )

They key to the calorie's burned during a workout is not actually how much you burn during the actual workout but the overall effect it has on your metabolism. Working out will help boost your metobilsim and build muscle which means that your body will in turn be burning more calories than what we think. That's the bonus of a good exercise program.

I do 5 to 10 minutes of pilates (started yesterday), 10 to 13 minutes of weight training, and 15 to 25 minutes of Cardio on the treadmill (I did 27 today). Some days I can do more than others. Some days I feel like I am going to drop and others I can push myself. Today was a good day

Good for you! That sounds like a pretty good routine... a good mixture of stretching, weight training and cardio.

Default I don't think of exercise as calories

I have some things I do, and when I do them regularly, I feel better and I am encouraged to do more. I do a strength routine, and I try to "run" with the dogs and sometimes I run more than others, and I do a yoga routine before bed.

Virtually any movement is better than none, but after a while you will need to do more for it to keep being better for you. But the biggest thing of all is to do it so that you KEEP doing it, even if some days are "better" than others. Think of it in the same light you think about brushing your teeth.

I agree with cs.... any movement is better than none.

If you're happy with your routine then keep at it. If you find yourself getting bored or feel like you're not getting as much workout from it then it might be time to switch it out by increasing speed, time, weights, etc.

Keep that body moving.
