Question whipping cream, Splenda, Shakes

I just bought a carton of heavy whipping cream to make shakes with. The directions on the carton said to whip it and add 2 tbsp of sugar... but it didn't say how much of it to use. I ended up using the whole carton (8 oz, i think) and just made the whole thing at once, and it tasted fine. Did I do it right? What if I don't want to make it all at once... how much sugar do I use?

*Actually I used Splenda, not sugar*

Also, speaking of shakes...
When adding cream to shake mix, you DO use it whipped and not straight from the carton, RIGHT???

And speaking of SPLENDA,
I've found a lot of recipes that say 2 packets of Splenda. I got the kind that pours out of a spout. How much splenda is in one packet?

I know these are very elementary questions... but I AM a newbie!!! Thanks!

According to the label, each packet of Splenda "sweetens like two teaspoons of sugar". Each packet weighs 1.0 grams.

The bulk Splenda, as you are using, says that it "measures, sweetens and pours cup for cup just like sugar". Each teaspoon weighs 0.5 grams.

So if the recipe calls for one packet, that's 2 teaspoons of the bulk.

Hi there.....

Believe it or not.....heavy cream whipped still tastes delicious without any kind of sweetner!!

When I add cream to my protein shakes, it's in the liquid state. Not whipped.

When you are using splenda, the quantities are about the same volume as regular sugar. So if you'd use a teaspoon of regular, use a teaspoon of splenda. Don't be afraid to go lighter with the splenda too. Once you are LCing for any length of time you will notice that things seem to be a lot sweeter than they seemed when we ate lots of sweets.
