Question Atkin's and Liquor

Being a social drinker from time to time, I was wondering if there are any brands of liquor that are allowable while on the Atkin's program? Not a big issue but thought I would educate myself a bit more. Thanks.

The brand of liquor wont matter but the kind U drink does. Straight alcohol like gin, rum, whiskey. tequila, scotch and vodka have no carbs so if U mix it with water, club soda or diet pop its fine. Dr A also says small amounts of red or white wine are fine altho they do have a few carbs. The problem being is that once U drink alcohol your body immediately switches from burning fat for fuel to the alcohol. U certainly dont want that in the early days of atkins. Also when U drink U will tend to crave more and be hungrier so watch out for that.
