Default im lost!

hi everyone. hope you are all doing good. I started induction 12 days ago with my husband. We both were doing really well, no more than 20 carbs, no sugar or alcohol. My husband gave up on day 5 and I continued and he lost (and continues to lose,he is low-carbing) more than me!! Why is that? I am eating all the right foods and taking vitamins and using the ketostix but Im not losing as fast as i thought i would. I know I've lost at least 5 lbs. but he has lost over 10lbs. When I use the sticks they are always a dark purple (his are light purple) Is this ok? I dont understand. Can anyone tell me what i may be doing wrong??

First I must say...congratulations on deciding to change you life.

I think you probably need to up your water intake...dark purple is an indication of being dehydrated...you should be drinking at least 8 glasses of 8 oz plus 1 glass for every twenty five lbs you want to use. I don't think the stix actually do go to the deepest colour when you are drinking enough water.

As for what is going on with your hubby and you...men loose my quickly than women. I know it isn't fair, but that is just the way it is. Sometimes they can just cut out a little and loose a lot...where as we all really do have to work hard at it. It has something to do with the muscle proportion I think.

Good luck, hope this helps.

Just one thing to add - the men/women thing aside - EVERYBODY loses at a different rate - we are all so unique that this can't be a thing of competition or compare.

I envy those who lose fast, as I am a true graduate of the turtle class of losers

Jackysmom,

Don't fret! I started this diet back in April of this year, and my hubby said he "didn't need to lose" so he opted not to join me. He has lost 25 pounds so far because I stopped fixing the standard rice, pasta, potatos with the nightly dinner.

I just shrug it off and keep going, don't let it bother you. LC said it best, everyone loses at different rates.
