Unhappy New and Feeling Weak!

I am on my second week and feel sick with all the eggs and protein. I thought it would go away. I would love some fruit. Anybody else feel this way? Is there hope?

Are you eating veggies? Check your lists for some low carb ones such as all types of lettuce, radishes, celery, cabbage, spinach. Also check out the recipes for alternatives to eggs. SF jello satisfies my desire for fruit. Yes it does get better, give it time.

Are you eating enough? This isn't a diet -- you don't have to cut down quantities, just eat the right kinds of food.

Can't swallow another steak? There's cheese, and nuts and cream cheese.

Are you taking potassium supplements? That might account for the weakness.

We all have foods we hate -- I'm a picky eater, too. But we have to figure out what WILL work. I'll bet you can make a list of foods you do like. Salads, veggies -- there a lot of possibliities.

Good luck

Hi Mackenziev5,

and welcome to our LC support group.

All the above suggestions are good, but you know Atkins is not the only LC plan out there. Check your local library for these books or you can start your own LC library

Protein Power
Schwarzbein Principle
Carbohydrate Addicts Lifeplan

Atkins is the most restrictive LC plan and the above list is more flexible and I believe that you would be able to have some fruit on those plans.

Lowcarbing is healthy and you will lose weight, I can only urge you to do some more research. For a brief review, go to the Low Carb Plans forum.

Good luck finding a LC plan that works for you.

It's not the protein that's making you feel this way. What you are experiencing is carb withdrawal - and the symptoms do go away. You will experience energy and well-being like you've never felt before.

I echo the other replies. Make sure you're eating your daily allotment of vegetables and taking supplements. Also be sure to drink at least 64 oz. of water a day - more is even better. Nausea and weakness can also be caused by dehydration.

Default hi Mac

I was feeling realy weak for awhile and once I started potassium supplements it helped a lot. Also even when I was in the induction phase I would eat a couple strawberrys because they are low in carbs
