Any suggestions on medicine? I dont want to blow my carbs on Theraflu, but it works so good! Thanks....

Try to stick to tablet or pill form instead of syrups or liquid form. They normally have hidden sugars and fillers. If you do decide to take it, then don't worry about it . If I felt that badly, I would probably take it, too.

I had strep for about a week before going to the doc. If it continues, definetly go see a doctor.

About the only thing that would help my throat was a mix of Cleritain (I also had a head cold) to stop dripping, then Contact extra strengh for the throat pain. NyQuil and Dayquil caps didn't put a dent in it.

Also hot liquids are extreamly helpful. My morning cup of coffee was an amazing soother. Then later in the day I would enjoy a hot cup of tea, it really helped take the egde off and sooth. I also tried cold with LeCarb icecream, but the warm seemed to work 1000 times better.

Tylenol Flu works great.

Another thing to look in to if you develop a cough: Diabetic Tussin. The better pharmacies and the larger grocery stores should carry it. It says on the label:

Sugar free
Alcohol free
Sodioum free
Fructose free
Sorbitol free
Codeine free
Dye free

On the other hand, I agree with KristyC; when you're sick, sometimes it's better to just take whatever medicine soothes the symptoms. You can always return to your regularly-scheduled LC routine when you get better.

Thank you all for the replies. My MOM brought me some homemade chicken soup (I had a cup of it minus the noodles). Coffee was great. Ladybelle, I also have had strep throat before and Im pretty certain this is it again. IM SO ACHY!!! Back to bed now before the kids get home from school. Tired person....signing out!
