Question What do you use?

Dose anyone out there use a scale that measures weight and body fat? If so what is the brand? I have been looking at them... Is it worth it?

I don't think their worth it. Some acurate ways to measure body fat is with calipers or waves.

Tanita makes one that people I know say is GREAT!! My husband's cyclist club all have one and they say it always measures them the same as calipers.
I don't know more than its made by Tanita.
Google may find it for you by putting Tanita and body fat scale.

There's a great discussion thread about Body Fat scales in our "Best Of" forum .. it's long, but the information is excellent and might help you decide before you spend your money. Check it out .. Body Fat Scales - are they worth it?

I use tantia, but agree they aren't worth it. Mine can vary as much as 7%. One time I checked my BF, went and watched a movie drinking only water, then rechecked out of a lark. I lost 2 pounds but gained 2% BF :P

Lately it has been a lot more stable though. I think it's a matter of the lower your body fat, the more accurate it can be, or at least the more stabe (I hope it's not right or I have alot of weight to lose yet, which I probably do)

I use the Health-o-Meter Bodyfat Monitor scale. I like it! If you follow the directions (like not eating or drinking before measuring) it gives a pretty accurate measurement. I got mine for under 50 bucks at KMart.

I have a Tanita scale too. I think I got mine for around $50 at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. They have a couple of different versions. This one was on sale and has programmable memory for 2 people. If you get one without memory, you have to enter your height and sex every time you want a body fat readout. I don't use the body fat percentage much though (or at least don't take it to heart) but it may come in handy when the percentage starts going DOWN!
