Default Not Sleeping Anymore (Yes, an Exercise Q)

This makes absolutely no sense to me, but ever since I've been exercising very strenuously, I've had increasing trouble falling and staying asleep. I work out in the mornings, so that's not the issue. Is it possible that exercise makes you need far less sleep than normal??? Does anyone out there have any creative suggestions for sleeping? I've tried all the common things like avoiding caffeine after noon, not eating at night, taking a warm bath, etc. And I've even gone the Benadryl route, which makes me terribly groggy the nest day.

TIA!

I have the same problem. Seems I'm waking up more often during the nite and the last 5 days I've been waking up 1/2 hr before my alarm clock goes off. So, I get up & exercise.

Poor sleep can be a sign of overtraining, so you might want to reevaluate whether you need to take an easy week, or easy days during a week.

how are you guys feeling during the day? tired and/or lethargic? if you are than you're getting poor sleep, maybe try meditating before you go to bed to slow everything down....you may be thinking about too much before going to bed and that's keeping you from actually getting deep sleep.....but if you feel ok and can make it through your day, try sleeping less?!?! if nothing else helps, i'd go have a talk with your doctor.....

Thanks for your replies. I think I'll try easing off the exercise a little bit and see if that helps.
