Low carbing has become a significant part of my every day eating. I did drop 25 pounds ( which represents 50% of my target ). Most resturants that I patronize have buff. that allow me to pick low card items. I have not lost any weight for a number of months now but on the other hand I am over 20 gm and sort of a maintenance level. I am looking to find a rec. for crackers which is the snack food that I miss in my snacking. I have a bread machine. Any one out there have suggestions. JEBSR

have you tried the cheese crackers from the recipe forum??? Use parchment paper and put a small amount of grated cheese (or a small cube) on the paper in the microwave for around 45 seconds (watch closely) until it's bubbling. Blot with paper towel-comes out crispy! Put salsa and sour cream on them, or anything else you'd put on a cracker.

Thank you Nikkil, sounds good. I have however seen a number of such referring to other types of cheese which I will try soon. I keep thinking there might be something made with soy flower and or lower carb grains which can be made into a dough, rolled and baked with some salt.

Hi jebsr

I'm new around here too, and find it a wonderful source of information and inspiration. Here's a link to a recipe that I think might be more what you're looking for.

http://pub96.ezboard.com/flowcarbbu...picID=249.topic

I haven't tried it yet (been kinda under the weather with a flu-like bug) but it sounds relatively easy and quite good (if you like bran of course )

If you do try it, let us know how it turns out.

Nikkil;

The cheese crackers sound great - will try them soon.

I was reading the posts in this link and some people were frustrated about using too much water in the recipe for crackers. I was wondering if the orginal recipe actually used wheat bran or if it was really some type of wheat bran cereal that would soak up a lot of water? Anyone who bakes have any idea if this could be what happened?

Deb
