Katgurl, and others,
I work 12 hour shifts on my feet and notice that I have really bad charley-horse leg cramps while sleeping after my shifts (I only work 3 shifts per week) on Atkins. When it happens now, I get up and take 3 to 4 over-the-counter 91mg Potassium tablets and a big glass of water, wait about 5 minutes, and they go away. Instead of keeping me awake, or re-awakening me! I know exactly what you all mean, these are vicious awful painful pulling leg cramps and the Potassium supplement has been a life-saver. As discussed elsewhere, the amount of potassium in 3 to 4 of these tablets is about the same as in a banana or other high potassium food.
