Hi guys:
I am fairly new to this forum, but not to Atkins. I have been lurking here for over a year, content to copy recipes and be inspired by all of you. I started Atkins in April of 2002 and lost almost 50 pounds by November. I have inspired so many people to this WOE that I wish it were a network marketing company - I would be rich! My proudest accomplishment is that two of my daughters have lost 30 and 40 pounds and are looking so good. (Daughter number three is one of those 110 pound wonders that never gains an ounce - we think she is an alien!)
Sometime over the Christmas holidays, I started to cheat. I snuck in a cookie here, a bowl of real ice cream there, a few of my grandkids' french fries. I was thrilled that I didn't gain any weight back. Well, now that it is September and I "got away" with so much cheating, I am up 20 pounds. Guess I didn't really get away with anything. Life is like that sometimes.
So, here I am, head hanging, needing some support. I restarted my committment to low carb on Monday and have eaten real well since. I plan to go right from here to the journals and start my own. Even if no one else reads my journals, I will be able to go back and remember where I am today, how I feel and how I successfully lost that weight again (for I do plan on doing just that.)
One quick note in case my grandchildren ever catch me on this site and see my user name: I am Tula's Gram, but her real name is Eliza. "Tula" is a long story for another day. Her brothers are Aaron and Brett and I am their grammie, too. Combined they are "The Littles" and littlesgram was, amazingly, already taken. I am way too young to be so old, but we can't deny that I am the grandmother. Oh well. They have been the absolutely best gift I have ever received - and they feel the same way about me. Cool!
So, intro completed, I am off to the journals to start recording the second half of my life, the low carb way!
