Question Always Hungry

Alright guys...

I have been doing the atkin's induction by the book.... and was not feeling hungry at all... but eating made me satisfied and i didn't even think about eating... this was for the first 4-5 weeks...

But..
Magically this last week... I have been starving...and eating everything in sight... still the proper foods... but nothing is filling me up..

I am still loosing inches... not sure of the pounds.. cuz i dont have a scale..

I guess i am just alittle frustrated cuz i am hungry constantly... is this cuz my TOM is coming up in about 1 week?? cuz i have never been sooo hungry... my boyfriend is like " Oh My God, You are eating again??"

Any suggestions would really be helpfull.

The lack of hunger that is so unique to the first weeks of LC doesn't typically last, Rachelle. What you're experiencing is normal. If you have TOM approaching, if you were eating less while you were not hungry much - it's possible your body is playing catch up. The fact that you're losing inches while eating is a good sign - you're giving your body what it needs and it is rewarding you.

Dr. A says to listen to your body - this is applies to when it's hungry as well as when it's full

One possible suggestion is to make an effor to increase your fat intake. Use more mayo, butter, olive oil and see if that doesn't help with the satiation.

Cheers,
-Nat

Thank you for that quick reply...

I was just alittle concerned because it was such a drastic change from the last few weeks...

This is the first time i have ever tried to diet... on atkin's or any other diet for that matter... and usually when you have such drastic changes... it is because "you" have changed something... and when i hadn't i was a little concerned...

But thanks for the reassurance...

It is annoying though... eating every 3 hours.. and wanting to snack..
I will try drinking more water... sometimes that fills me up just like food..

hey hun...

I had almost no appetite... for the first 4-5 weeks... sort of like cooking and eating was a bonus... i would eat cuz it tasted great... and cuz i had to get my meals in...

now i am hungry about 3 hours after i eat... and want to snack..

TOM... is Time of Month.. not in the Atkin's book

I don't know i think my body will adjust and i will be somewhere between not hungry and famished... just normal again..

thanks for the support

Meghan, don't worry... you will get with the lingo.
Also... wanted to say... you should really enjoy doing the diet with your BF... mine isn't on it... but should be... and doesn't get why i want to eat every 3 hours... and is making me feel bad about it..
Well, not bad .. but selfconscience...

I Just tell him that my friends on here... told me i am "NORMAL"... so "HA!"

i am gonna stick with it from now on... so he is going to have to get used to me stuffing my face... and losing weight...
while he does the same... with the opposite effect...

Maybe he will jump on the bandwagon with me someday...

Yeah I was on another diet loosing like 1/2 a week, and saw him having so much sucess, and thought well we can do it together, that is was he wanted to start, now My Big brother his wife all the people in there office, all the people on my BF's crew at work inclueding his eats a chocolate cake everyday Foremen are on it because of us. So we dont have to worry about people eating are fav. cheat foods infront of us!

My little brother who has always been on it without knowing, always eats like 8 times a day and stays super skinny, was our inspiration he only eats meat, cheese and select few veggies, yes he eats fruit sometimes, but what he likes, and mostly eats fits in What a lucky kid, so tell you BF that as long as you are happy and loosing wieght who cares how much you eat your hungy!

Rachelle, tell your BF that eating every 3 hours is better than eating 3 meals a day. One is how your body wants to eat and was designed to eat (and will help improve your metabolism) and the other is a social invention

Rachelle, I was this way too last week for a week.. was hungry a lot, and I did consume a lot of calories, but all on legal food. I tried to keep myself busy, which helped me to get food off my mind. This week is better.. My appetite has diminished. I wish I could explain why..
