Hi,

I just want to introduce myself to the forum.

I will be starting the Atkins diet plan this Monday so I decided to find a forum like this for support to find answers to my questions and share my success.

I've been overweight since puberty hit me and years of bad diet habits and low self-esteem has just added to my weight problem. Right now, I'm around 250 but my goal is around 140 or more importantly size 8-10 jeans. Even if I never make it that 'low', I would just love to be able to shop once again in the 'average' clothing sections (size 16 and below).

I'm still trying to set my mini-goals and I don't really know how fast I'll lose weight on the program so if anyone has any good advice on how to set realistic mini-goals - let me know.

Welcome Smilyus!

I'm not sure how other people set their minigoals. I tend to set mine in milestones. For instance, my first goal was to get out of the morbidly obese category. The goal I'm working on now is to get below 200.

Since a lot of people tend to lose inches even when the scales aren't reflecting that, and since your ultimate goal is a size 8-10, you might enjoy setting your goals in clothes sizes.

Hello

I'm a newbie here too. This is day #11.

Keep reading posts and you will get the hang of it.

Buy Dr. Atkins book or go to his website, Atkins.com for plenty of info.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
You might want to consider starting a journal so you can keep track of your progress.
Good Luck!
