Hi Kish!

Aspartame is a YMMV (your mileage may vary) sort of thing. For me, yes, aspartame stalled my weight loss. I've cut out all aspartame - and apparently, it takes about 4 weeks to get out of your system...

Others are able to use aspartame with no problems! I wish I was one of those people!

p.s. you can do a search and find several good discussions on the mysteries of aspartame

I think most sugar-free jello is made with aspartame. I have found Jolly Rancher pre-made jello in the refrigerated section at the grocery store; it is made with Splenda.

Good luck!

I think it gives me headaches. Correlation does not equal causation, so I can't be sure yet...

Headaches is only one of Aspartames side effects. Stalling weight loss and insulin problems are two others that can occur.

Aspartame has 3 main components: Phenylalinine, Aspartic Acid, and Methanol (Wood Alcohol). All alcohols (well most) contain some methanol. But, the amount is so small that the alcohol will kill you before the methanol does. But, Aspartame is another matter. A small amount probably won't hurt you. But, be aware that like Alcohol, Aspartame is toxic in large quantities.
