Talking Whats a good calorie goal?

Hi all!

I have been doing Atkins since February 1st and have lost 20 pounds! My weight loss is really sporatic, I won't lose anything for a while and then I will drop 5 pounds. I would like to know what some other people's calorie goals are for a day. I wonder if Im eating the correct number of calories.

I just started keeping track of my daily intake on FitDay so I cant even comment on what I have been doing. But I do consistantly keep my carb intake between 20 and 25 carbs a day.

Thanks in advance for your time and help!

I've always been told its 10-12 times your weight. If you weigh 150 pounds then its 1500 - 1800 calories.

I gotta say... what you're doing is working! If it ain't broke don't fix it. Seriously.

Also, periods without weight loss followed by what we here fondly refer to as "whooshes" are perfectly normal. It is quite possible you are losing inches which don't show up on the scale. Are you measuring?

Also, Atkins specifically says that his plan is not a calorie counting plan. You now have a metabolic advantage and probably aren't eating too many or too few calories if you're losing like you are.

That being said, most of us aim for somewhere in the range of 10-12x weight. But, if I were you, I'd forget about calories and count carbs. Calories tend to be self-regulating on LC because fat is very filling.

Congrats on your weight loss so far!
