Default Coconut Milk?

Does anyone know the carb count for fresh coconut milk. I looked all through FitDay and couldn't find anything.

Hi RodeRash:

We have a nifty little calculator at the top of the site under "Low Carb Tools" compliments of Tamarian. I don't know about you, but I find the USDA Database is always way too slow. I'm a little impatient though.

Crimson, after going to our on-site calculator, I just plugged in "coconut" instead of "coconut milk". It came up with the following. I have a feeling this is more in line with what you were looking for. Lesson learned for me, KISS when doing searches.

Coconut Milk

Hi there!

I use the Coconut Milk Premium Rooster Brand product from Superstore & it has the nutrition on the label, but not as detailed as the USDA site. If you don't use the thin water that naturally seperates from the thick white coconut fat, there ought to be barely any carbohydrates since they would all be in the sweet cloudy thin water liquid remaining( I just throw that out).

I use the fat for just plain eating, & cooking & also added to any of my teas.

It's unfortunate though that the manufacturer has to put the preservative Potassium Metabisulphite in their product which is so common with the Asian foods, about as common as MSG.

Ciao
