Talking introduce myself

Hello, thought I would introduce myself I am Tina and I live in Broxbourne,Hertfordshire In Great Britain. I am about to embark on the atkins diet I need to lose weight for my health. I am seeing my renal specialist on Monday and I will be tackling him on the subject of low carb. I was diagnosed with Lupus 8 years ago, which unfortunatley effected my kidneys and also effected my thyroid. I would on Steroids and other terrible drugs for 6 years and put on lots of weight. I suffer badly with joint problems which putting on so much weight is not helping. I have just found this site and reading some of the fantastic success stories will spur me on to continue the diet. I did the induction diet in september and lost 14 pounds, but I felt pretty bad, it was the palpatations I could not cope with. Well I hope to hear from some of you very soon.

Tina

Hi Tina and welcome,

good luck at the Doctor's on Monday and I hope Low carb will help improve on your health. You sure found a wonderful place for support and information. Perhaps start your own journal, there you can write down your day to day stuff and meet new people.

Hope to read more from you

Mischa

Just to say that you for reading my introduction. It has been great reading about you guys and how well so many people are doing. This is the start for me and I hope that it will be the start of something great. I have struggled with my weight for many years especially during the rough years before I was diagnosed with underactive thyroid and then when the Lupus was diagnosed it all went down hill. I sometimes get very depressed when I think of having to take drugs for the rest of my life, but I know that they are the things keeping me alive. By the way I got on great at the hospital on Monday, My kidney function is doing great and I started the low carb today. Doctor was a little apprehensive about me doing this lowcarb diet, but i have to give it a go.
Hope to speak to you again

Tina

Default Welcome from a fellow brit

Hi Tina,

Welcome aboard. I thought it would be reassuring to hear from another Brit, I live in Bucks. Good Luck to you. I'm only 8 days in myself and already feel great, and the pounds are dropping off nicely. The newfound energy is fab! Go for it.
