Default Timing of water consumption...?

Hi all-
Just a quick question regarding how fast/when I drink my water. I think I remember reading a post a while back that said it is bad to drink too much at one time (something like no more than 16 oz. per hour???). I tend to forget to drink small amounts throughout the day and end up "chugging" a bunch of water a few times a day. Is this dangerous? Thanks for any input or opinions you might have.

The danger of drinking too much water in too short a time period comes from diluting the salt content of your blood chemistry.

This normally happens in athletes during long extended workout periods such as marathons. You can do a search using the forums search function on "water intoxication" for more threads concerning this subject

Default Marathons?

Hmmmm.....well, I don't think I'll be running any marathons any time soon (or exercising too much for that matter) so I can pretty much rule that out. Will check out the other threads. Thanks for your response, Agonycat.

Default I know you didn't ask this but . . .

Best tip I have read about drinking water did not come, for me, from LC forums altho it has probably been mentioned all over the place. I don't know where I read it, maybe even DADNR? Iced water is easier to drink. It tastes better and goes down easier.

I fill up one liter water bottles about half way, then fill them up with room temperature water. Everywhere I go, I can have iced water. I drink all day and I drink three liters. One you build it in to your routine, it gets easier and easier.

I read a news blip recently announcing that someone has invented ice cube trays with long, rounded ice cube molds to be used in water bottles. Freezing water in bottles is cheaper.
