Default Water pills ok?

Just wondering if taking a water pill (diuretic, I guess?) is ok for your health and this WOL on those days you feel bloated? any other good ways to decrease bloating?

The low carb lifestyle is already a highly diuretic diet. That is why we drink 64oz plus 8oz for every 25 pounds we want to lose. Taking a water pill on top of this would make you dehydrate even faster which I don't think is a good thing

I am sure Doreen or Nat or Karen could provide more of a medical reason why you wouldn't want to stack a water pill on top of low carbing.

Not, I would say 'no' to the diuretics. As AC pointed out this lifestyle is very diuretic to begin with. Taking something extra would result in quite a flushing out of not just water, but also electrolytes, and in particular potassium. Remember how we felt at the onset of LC? Weak, light headed, fatigued? These are all symptoms of potassium deficiency.

Increasing water consumption, making sure you're getting the minerals and vitamins you need daily and avoiding processed food high in sodium is really all the diuretic you need when you follow a LC WOL.
