Question Question on supplements......

okay, I admit I've been bad....

I've been doing this wol for about 5 weeks now and have not been taking any supplements. now I'm doing okay (I guess), but am a bit tired, a bit grumpy and feel it's time I did the supplement thing.

The problem is I've loaned my book to a new 'recruit' , and can't remember what supplements I should be taking.

can anyone out there help me, please

Hi AussieGirl,

I think a good multi vitamin is a good start, I take chromium and find it very helpful. Calcium, magnesium and potassium might be a good idea too...

I try to include a few tbsp of ground flax seed and flax seed oil to my diet.

good luck,

maggie

Hi,

You could check to see what the Atkins website has to say (www.atkinscenter.com) but I'll tell you what I'm taking:

1) A good multivitamin
2) B & C supplement
3) Calcium, magnesium and zinc supplement
4) Atkins Dieters Advantage (chromium)
5) CoQ10 (thought to aid in weight loss, esp. if you're 35+ yo)
6) Green Tea extract (antioxidant & aids in weight loss)

The 1st three are absolutely essential and you really need to be taking them.....anyone should....LC or NOT! The next three are optional.

Good luck!

hi

i was feeling tired to the last couple of weeks. i take a prenatal vitamin with lots of calcium and folic acid, but i added 1-2 potassium tables a day and now don't feel tired at all. i am going to pick up Chromium, too. or the atkins dieter's advantage, whichever i can find here.

hope you start to feel more awake!

Question Why all the supplements?

If you're getting at least 100% from what you're eating and a good multivitamin, shouldn't that be enough? Do we need more than 100%? I'm taking GNC's Women's Multi which is better than the Atkins recommended multi and a supplement of potassium for the aches and cramps.

I do think that the Green Tea Extract is a wonderful idea as green tea will do wonders for your health overall.

What is the CoQ10? Just curious.

Thanks
