Thumbs up 2 1/2 months on Atkins

Hi !

Just wanted to introduce myself. I am new to this forum. I have been reading it for the past few days though, and I think the members and admins. are absolutely great in regard to helping me. The information is indepth and alot of good input and feedback is evident.

At any rate, I have been doing Atkins Diet since first week of January. My resolution was to lose the weight I had put on over the past 5 years by eating like a "Fat Cat". Cookies, candy, cake, pasta, pizza, and the rest of the goodies were my best friends. Thats until I looked in the mirror one day, and did not like the reflection! That is when I knew it was time for a change. I felt unattractive and unhealthy and felt really sluggish throughout most days,

So as I mentioned, I jumped on the Atkins way of life. I had read the book from front to back, and I totally didnt believe that eating steaks, butter, bacon, whole eggs, non diet dressing and mayo, etc. would make me thing again.....LOL , I was in for a suprise!

I started out on Jan 4th ~ around 204 lbs. My stomach was big and my face was puffy. I started with a 2 week induction and was finally on my way,

It took around a few weeks to stop having incredible sugar withdrawals. The Entermanns was calling my name ~ each corner. But I am happy to say , I resisted...

After the 1st month on Atkins, I lost 13 pounds. My abs were starting to peek through my jiggle roll....my side panels were shrinking,,,, and my energy was boosting ~ an all time high....I was happy to say the least.

Now its been close to 2 1/2 months....My weight is 178, I have lost 26 pounds total, and I have a new lease on life. Its really great! I have 6 more pounds to reach my goal weight of 172. Soon I will incorporate weight lifting and cardio to get really tone and ripped.

Thats my story to date - oh and some of the vitamans and supp's I use are -

EFA, 2000 mg Vita C, B complex formula, Multi vitamin , L - Cartinine, and Chromium .

I eat 4 meals a day - gettin tired of salad though...lol

I like Steak, chicken, shrimp, pork, ground turkey, turkey breast, alot of fish (salmon, fresh tuna steaks, swordfish) and cheeseburgers.

I did eat alot of cheese in months 1 and 2 but now have cut down because cheese usually gives your body a flabby look to it.

I like my low carb veggies...especially celery with hi fat ranch !!!

Thats about it, I look forward to contributing to this great forum and also meeting my goal weight.
