Hello,all!

I registered about a week ago,and tried to post but I guess
my message must have been gobbled up by the big wwmachine.
It's my first time posting anywhere and I suppose that my lack of computer skills is showing. For pity's sake,it's taken me 10
minutes to type this much text!Thank heavens I'm not in a chat room!!!
Anyway,a little about my story so far:
I started Atkins about a year ago and lost 25 lbs VERY SLOWLY,
but being severely hyperinsulinemic,it's the only logical choice for me.
However, this Chistmas,I succumbed again to the demon sugar
and have gained back a few lbs,and lost a great deal of equanimity.
I Know this WOL inside and out,but I realize that I need a great deal of support from all of you that I could never get from the people close to me.
I hope to share a lot with everyone in the future.
Thanks in advance,

Yours,

Dominique

Hi Dominique

Slow and steady is what gets there. That does not just apply to losing weight, but also to typing skills. I must admit I thank my chemistry teacher at school who recommended I learnt typing as an extra lesson. Over the years these skills have really paid off.

I know what you mean about Christmas. I had a couple of days when I said what the hell and then a weeks holiday in Cyprus when it was difficult to get the right foods to keep going. So I put on 7 1b over a 3 week period and it took me four weeks to remove it.

I'm sure you will do the same. Congratulations on your weight loss so far. 25 pound is about how much I've lost too. I reckon I'm quite insulin resistant too.

Keep going, you'll get there in the end and keep posting.

Little Anne

Thanks Little Ann,

I appreciate the prompt reply and especially the encouragement.
I could get used to this!
As for gaining weight on your holiday,I hope that you had enough
fun that it eased the pain of gaining a few lbs.
Hope to talk to you again soon.

Much love,

D.

Thumbs up hi Dominique

Dominique,

You have to give yourself a pat on the back for getting back on the horse. If you did it the first time you can do it again just hang in there. I know I've had the very same problem with sugar myself. I hate this addiction. YOU CAN DO IT! Just remember this phrase, "If it is to be it's up to me."

Thanks Dominique for your reply and enquiry about my hols.

Unfortunately Cyprus had bad weather for the week I was there with lots of rain and even a little snow. Hence I did not get out much and it was not warm enough to live on salads. This I think was another reason I put on weight. So, I've put that holiday behind me.

This contrasts with when I went to Turkey for a fortnight last September when I lost 4 pounds. So I know you can combine a great holiday with losing weight.

Hope today is a good one.

Little Anne
