Exclamation New and Stressed

Hi everyone,

I am glad this website is here!

Help, I need some answers.

I started the Carb Addict's Diet 2-15-02. Since then I have not eaten anything above 4 carbs for two meals a day and a balanced reward meal at the end of the day. I have nixed the sugar intake completely until my reward meal. I have already lost a pound-whew who!

My problem is this, I am feeling dizzy (light headed) before and after meals. I feel like I am eating a lot at my two meals during the day and get full quick. What is wrong?

Also, I need something besides water and tea to drink during the day. Can I put some sort of sweetner in my tea once a day or have some sort of sweet drink before my reward meal?

Help!

Brenda, I'm really sorry no one's answered your question yet. I'm just not familiar with the plan you're using. I just don't get it -- the reward meal thing, I mean. Sounds to me like it would just set you up for blood sugar problems and continued cravings. The light-headedness might be low blood sugar? If so, the tea might exacerbate it.

I'm really not qualified to say but maybe raising the question in the list will get you a better response.

I hope you're feeling better.

Allison

Actually, I am feeling much better and have lost 6 punds.

As far as the CAD reward meal goes... If you eat low carbs all day long, your body gets used to releasing a certain amount of insulin. The reward meal is there to even out your insulin amounts once a day. Plus your body needs carbs for energy. I eat whatever I want in my reward meal along with a salad and even balance of protein and low carb veggies. THis works. For more info on this approach, go to the CALP forum. Sorry if my explanation lacks!

Thanks for your concern. By the way the dizzy spells were from eating to much salt and loosing too much water. I supplemented with pottasium and feel better.

Smile Sorry!

I must have missed your post! I try to chek the questions area, but so many people are Atkins that I don't read all the messages!
Glad you're feeling better......I've found that I get lightheaded when I start this WOE, but it goes away after the first couple weeks.

Welcome!

Default Light headed

I think I was a little light headed a couple of times in the first week or so of going low-carb. I hadn't thought much of it until now. Haven't had any problems with that in ages.

I was just thinking about salt. These days I rarely add salt to my food. Funny........ I just don't miss it. Wonder what the salt/ low carb connection is. hmmmm..

I am certain that I get enough salt in other foods..... so I am not going to worry about it.

You are doing great!!

best wishes,
Libby
