Default Hubby's Bday - Which cake is best ?

Hi,

My hubby is turning 30 on Monday.

I'm throwing a party for him, and would like to get a birthday cake.

Instead of getting a chocolate cake, or some mousse cakes, should I stick with baked cheesecakes ?

Afterall, cheese is lower in carbo. And hopefully less sinful than sugar loaded choc cakes ??!!

We'll be having a barbecue so he'll be taking ribs and meat ... only the cake part is abit LC-tricky !!

P.s. I checked. Sara Lee Strawberry cheescake has 26g of carbo for every serving (a quarter of the cake). Carbo content is lower for cheesecakes right ?

Default Cheesecake is lower

Hello, yes cheesecake would be lower than flour based caked.

Why not get adventurous and make your own low carb version. Likely nobody will know the difference and you can top with Sugar free jello, whipped fresh cream and strawberries.

Why not try Karen's recipe
http://www.lowcarb.ca/karen/recipe049.html

Less than 6 grams carbs per serve.

Cheers
Kim
