i believe white coffee is another expression for coffee + cream. if so, coffee is usually ok..may make u lose a little slower, it depends on the person. (i have family in australia) lol.

Default TO BLU

Yeah, you got it Blu, , , thanks for the info. I think my one coffee in the morning will be worth it. But the more I think about how I might feel after the more I wonder if I really need it. or if I even want it. I thinking knowing I am allowed to have it if I want will be satisfaction enough!

I stick to my word on that this induction is pyschologically based. I think it's great.

Default coffee

I think white coffee is w/cream. I have started using whipping cream instead of milk to cut the carbs, so now it's like having melted ice cream first thing in the morning. I keep thinking that i can't give up the coffee, but i think i really can. first thing on monday, i am switching to decaf.

the caffeine in coffee promotes insulin release, so that's the no-no w/ coffee. Atkins is serious about nooooooo caffeine during induction. I, myself have been drinking it, but i think more out of habit now than NEED.

hope it helps
Brenda

Question LACK OF HALF AND HALF

Hmmm, I will have to work on that one, I live in Australia and as far as I know, we don't stock half and half. I know what it is as I used to live in the states I might have to try to find some Non dairy creamer or something.

To Itsjoyful, , , I have actually been having caffine free coffee for AGES, so the fact that I HAVE to have my coffee in the morning actually has nothing to do with the fact that I am craving. There is actually an underlying reason that I was reluctant to share on here, , , but it's that coffee, reg or decaf keeps me quite regular. I only need to have one cup in the morning and I am strait to the bathroom, heheh. SILLY HUH? !

I have been having black tea which has caffine in it so I don't know. I guess it's not affecting me that much.

I might find some good milk anyhow and have my one a day. If it stops me from losing I will cut it out.

Thanks,

Kristy

Now coffee with cream would have been my guess, but you never know.

Glad you found your answer.

If you can't find half and half use heavy cream or light cream or something.

Also, for some people the caffeine is the diuretic affect, although I have heard for others simply a hot liquid does it for them. And decaf coffee I think still has a little bit of caffeine.

For those that NEED coffee on induction or after that, I weaned myself by mixing half decaf half regular for a while (you can make it at home or get it mixed at the coffee shop!). Now I don't need caffeine to function in the morning.

Hope this helps!
