Default Stupid ad placement!

The ad in the top right has got to be one of the stupidest placements I've ever seen!

Actually, it's not stupid at all, if you're PETA. The Google Ad service lets advertisers specify some keywords to be associated with their banner, and the banner is then displayed on sites which are relevant to that keyword. PETA obviously specified that they wanted this banner targeted at a low-carb audience, so Google Ads is just doing its job -- it's not necessarily smart enough to know that the content of the banner is anti-low-carb. It's up to the site owner to report that an objectionable banner is being displayed.

The thing to do would be to let the webmaster of carbwire know about this ad. I recently signed up for Google AdSense and as part of the service I can filter out objectionable ads based on website addys. Carbwire's web master would just need to add "goveg.com" to their filter list

I'm trying to remember back to basic anatomy. I don't remember any thing about meat getting trapped and rotting in that area.... No wonder most people stink when they have gas. So this must prove that PETA members *bleep* doesn't stink, right? ;p

Ever stand downwind of a bean-eating vegan? Not pretty.

If something stayed in your colon long enough to rot, you'd be in th ehospital with a bowel obstruction, getting a colon resection.

There's an article in this month's Fast Company, I think, about this technology that lets advertisers get ad placement based on search engine findings. One of the big suitcase makers subscribes. They found themselves placed opposite a news story about a woman who cut up her husband and got him out of the house in a suitcase.

"Oversized brand X suitcases. Yes they really are that big"

"Take a trip in comfort in brand x suitcases. It's actually larger then most coach seats."

"Why pay for two tickets when you can carry on brand x suitcases."

Ok I'm just being tastless now. I'll stop and go try to take care of the sleep deprivation issues
