Default This is kind of silly but????

I notice that there is a newish feature - "similar threads" - I first saw it at the bottom of my journal and thought it kind of funny because the similar thread was called "counting calories" and well yes, I do - but now it's getting funnier and the threads are not at all similar - more like the kind of results you would get before the search engines were much improved - I was reading a thread about how to politely end a first date - and noticed the similar threads and just clicked one -
http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=258 - - is there really that much sense in having this feature - not that it bothers or me anything, just wondering?

The results are not always "on topic", but in many cases, they are.
