Smile Long Time Lurker - Coming out into the Light!

Hi All,

Thanks for all the helpful hints and just plain feeling that I wasn't alone. I started Atkins Jan. 2003 after hitting 232 lbs. I've lost 40 lbs so far! I've battled my weight for most of my life, even resorting to bulimia to get and stay thin. I've plateaued now for about 5 months - my first low-carb holiday season was a DISASTER! I jumped back on induction after the first of this year and lost my holiday gain but can't seem to lose anymore. I figured joining this forum might help me really recommit and get me going again.

We can do this thing!

Helen

Welcome to the forum!

Congrats on the weight loss so far. Your best bet for breaking the stall is to start using fitday.com to track a few days worth of food, then post a link to it in the atkins forum so people can look for problem spots.

Of course, drinking more water always helps, and exercise can do wonders.

Best of luck

Thanks NW! This is just what what I needed! SO much better than trying to keep a paper based journal of foods and activities.

Thanks again!

What a difference it has made cutting out all the supposed lc sweets! I was in OWL so thought I could endulge. The people in this forum who question the carb counts on those candy bars, ice cream, etc. have something. I know, I know...candy bars and ice cream are never going to be appropriate everyday food choices. I gave up my daily (Don't chastise me too hard! I'm already beating myself up enough!) "lc" candy bar and have already started losing again. Those treats may be alright once you lose the lbs but I'm convinced they are not appropriate (at least for me) until that time.

Thanks for all the great hints!!

Gotta get exercising-TODAY!
