How do you use the scanner?

I have these pictures that I want to post in my profile but I can't seem to scan them right. We have a brand new scanner and it's a hewlett packard. Everything that I scan shows pixels and looks terrible. I just want to post some pictures of my progress. Help please!

You might look into getting an imaging program such as adobe photo shop to help. It probably has to do with the resolution your scanning and maybe the file type. Are you scanning in as a bitmap instead of a jpg? Dig out the manual that comes with the scanner
