Unhappy Hi All

I am a new user as of today and have only just come across this website which I think is great, just the support I need.

I have been doing atkins for just over a month and I feel great. I have lost between 7Ilbs - 8Ilbs, but I cant help thinking I should be losing more. I am excercising every day and also doing intensive resistance training which I am really enjoying. The problem is for the last week the scales haven't budged and I am starting worry that I am not going to go down anymore!!!! I have been told that muslce weighs more than fat but I still want to see more movement on the scales.

I use the ketosis strips and they are still showing I am in ketosis so I am alittle confussed.

CAN ANYONE HELP?

Hi!

I doubt you could have/should have lost any more weight - that's the dieting industry and it's "magic cure" message. It's always difficult to lose the infamous Last 10-20 Pounds, so since that's your starting point, you've done fabulously! Give yourself a pat on the back.

Go by size, not the scale. If you've low fat/low calorie dieted in the past, it's almost guaranteed that you were low on protein, too, so your lean body mass was less than it should have been. Low carb/ample protein corrects this. You have to be prepared to be smaller at a higher weight than you'd expect. At 135-140, I fit into the same clothes that I wore when I was 125 from low fat (starvation). I obviously had no muscle tone!

So toss that scale and use the pant-o-meter instead... or do it the old fashioned way and use a tape measure. You're doing well.

I suggest you use www.fitday.com to track your foods. Also for somepeople CALORIES do count. I have to keep mine at 1200 or below.

Good Luck!
