Interesting test results. (Don't have any 'before' results to report) After about 8 months of low carbing. My total cholesterol and LDL were quite high: 7.6, and 4.72. But get this: HDL was 2.34, and triglycerides were 0.7! Ratio of total/HDL was 3.2. I reasured my doctor that I do not go anywhere near trans fatty acids and am taking my omega 3's.
Also fwiw, a c reactive protein test was done and it was normal. Sugars normal of course. Only thing slightly elevated was homocysteines, so doc has me starting on folic acid and a higher B12 dose...recheck in 3 months.
So, as for the very high overall cholesterol, well, I am going to decide that the skeptics are right, and that as the other indicators are so good, not to worry about it a lot.
I managed to find a medical doctor who is trained in wholistic medicine and understands what I am talking about re supplements, and prescribes them himself. He did not blink an eyelid when I said I was low carbing.
